1966 Chevelle Super Sport 396. This is a real factory muscle car. Big block 396, 4 speed transmission (M21) with 4.10 rear end, color paint code is N-N (Maroon Met.) with white interior.
The restoration is finished. First we stripped the paint off to the metal and epoxy primer, then frame off the body. We placed the body on the rotisserie. Media blasted the underside of the body and epoxy primer the underside also. Replaced the full trunk pan and front floor pan with the transmission hump. The frame was disassembled and sent to powder coating, the reassemble of the frame was done with all new nut and bolt, total Hotchkis suspension kit, Hotchkis front disc brake kit, and rear disc brake kit, all new power steering components, tie rod ends, center link, steering box, pitman arm. Replacing all brake lines with stainless steel brake lines front to rear and stainless brake hoses. Replaced the front to rear 3/8" fuel lines. Also added underdash A/C unit so we could ride in style.
Now we move on to what is the muscle car is centered around the big block. The 396 was rebuilt with Comp Cams equipment, nice healthy cam with 556 lift and 273 duration at .050, 110 degrees. Harland Sharp roller rockers tops the valve train off. The 396 will breath through a new 850 double pump Road Demon Carburetor. Exhale through the 1 5/8"Ceramic Hooker Headers and finish it all with Flowmaster 2 1/2" exhaust system and 2 chamber mufflers. We installed a Tremec 5 speed transmission. The motor is topped off with billet brackets, pulleys, valve covers, air cleaner cover, distributor, distributor hold down bracket, water neck, Endura shine water pump. Now that wraps up the Show and Go!
The paint is going back to the N-N Paint color to base coat / clear coat. The N-N is a Maroon Metallic Paint. We are putting the white interior back but with a little upgrade, leather, white leather! We have Leather door panels front and rear, new black carpet, new black dash pad and rear jute, White headliner. The steering wheel is billet along with billet window cranks, billet interior door handles. All new Soffseal weatherstripping.
The wheels are Phat; Foose Monterey 18x7 front, 18x10 rear. Tires are BFG. The sound system is Pioneer, 10 disc changer, 5 speakers, power antenna. The head unit is a factory reproduction w/ cassette and disc changer controls.
